Statement from the Data Center Coalition (DCC):

“The Data Center Coalition thanks President Trump for releasing Winning the AI Race: America’s AI Action Plan—a bold framework to ensure the United States remains the undisputed global leader in artificial intelligence. The administration’s plan recognizes that developing a robust domestic data center industry is vital to promoting U.S. national security, global economic competitiveness, and continued American AI dominance.

DCC was pleased to see that many of our policy recommendations were incorporated in President Trump’s plan. These recommendations focus on the removal of barriers to faster data center construction and operation—ranging from power access to supply chains to workforce development—which will allow data center companies to continue investing hundreds of billions of dollars to expand U.S. data center infrastructure across the country.

In particular, we commend the Trump administration’s emphasis on workforce development as the backbone of long-term AI leadership. Prioritizing early exposure through pre-apprenticeship programs and expanding hands-on training at the university and graduate levels is essential to maintaining long-term technological leadership.

Equally important is the plan’s commitment to streamlining permitting for data center construction and optimizing our energy systems. Data centers are the digital foundation of our economy—powering everything from AI development and financial services to defense operations and secure communications. Accelerating the permitting process is critical to keeping pace with skyrocketing demand.

To fully realize this vision, we must also continue to address the growing challenges around energy infrastructure, including modernizing our transmission system, speeding up the interconnection of energy resources, and securing key supply chains for essential components. We urge Congress and the Administration to act swiftly to expand energy access and modernize grid permitting, and to strengthen domestic supply chains for semiconductors and other critical technologies. Today’s announcement is a major step forward, and we look forward to continuing to work with the administration and lawmakers to ensure the U.S. remains at the forefront of global innovation and digital resilience.” — Josh Levi, President, Data Center Coalition
