Data Center Coalition Kicks Off Third Annual Blood Drive in Partnership with American Red Cross and Vitalant
Annual #DataCenterSleevesUp campaign expands in 2024 to allow for greater participation
Ashburn, VA (April 8, 2024) – The Data Center Coalition (DCC), the membership association for leading data center owners and operators, announced today the launch of its third annual #DataCenterSleevesUp virtual blood drive in partnership with the American Red Cross and Vitalant.
The 2024 campaign has new opportunities for more people to contribute to this important cause.
“We look forward to the blood drive each year as an additional opportunity to give back to our communities,” said Josh Levi, president of the Data Center Coalition. “The data center industry is excited to build on the success of the previous two years and to work with the American Red Cross and Vitalant to provide lifesaving donations to hospitals, surgical clinics, and emergency treatment centers across the United States.”
The #DataCenterSleevesUp2024 campaign will run for four weeks from April 8 through May 5. Members of the data center community will be able to make pledges to donate blood through the American Red Cross and Vitalant online platforms no matter where they are located in the U.S. This year, for the first time, individuals will also have the opportunity to make financial donations to the Red Cross in lieu of or in addition to donating blood.
In the first two years of the #DataCenterSleevesUp campaign, DCC member companies logged a total of 1,277 pledged blood donations (502 in 2022 and 775 in 2023), enough to potentially impact more than 3,800 lives. DCC will announce the total number of industry pledges for the #DataCenterSleevesUp2024 campaign in early May.
