Data Center Coalition Kicks Off Fourth Annual Blood Drive in Support of the American Red Cross and Vitalant
Ashburn, VA (April 8, 2025) – The Data Center Coalition (DCC), the membership association for the U.S. data center industry, announced today the launch of its fourth annual #DataCenterSleevesUp virtual blood drive in support of the American Red Cross and Vitalant.
"We view DCC’s annual blood drive as a vital opportunity to give back and strengthen communities across the country where our members and their teams operate," said Josh Levi, president of the Data Center Coalition. "The data center industry looks forward to building upon our successful blood drive campaigns over the past three years. Our support of organizations like the American Red Cross and Vitalant allows them to provide lifesaving blood donations to hospitals, surgical clinics, and emergency treatment centers across the United States. Every donation can save lives, and we're proud to support this mission.”
The #DataCenterSleevesUp2025 campaign will run for six weeks from April 8 through May 19. Members of the data center community will be able to make pledges to donate blood through the American Red Cross and Vitalant online platforms no matter where they are located in the U.S. For a second year, individuals will also have the opportunity to make financial donations to the Red Cross in lieu of or in addition to donating blood.
In the first three years of the #DataCenterSleevesUp campaign, DCC member companies logged a total of 2,091 pledged blood donations (502 in 2022, 775 in 2023, and 814 in 2024), enough to potentially impact more than 6,200 lives. DCC will announce the total number of industry pledges for the #DataCenterSleevesUp2025 campaign on May 21, 2025.
